I’ve partnered up with Jord to share you this fun gift guide for moms. I pretty much give the same sort of gifts to the moms and women in my life each year. You know the obvious ones: candles, lotions, and jewelry. And here’s the thing about this gift guide, I’m not going to steer you away from those, because they’re the obvious mom gifts for a reason. What I offer you is the most beautiful and functional version of those gifts and a few other things as well.
My favorite gifts for mothers:
Initially I find it difficult to find the perfect gift for my mom or mother-in-law. But, I do tend to overthink things and often have to remind myself that there’s no perfect gift. Overtime I have found some beautiful gifts that have become my go-tos, making the holidays much easier.
So, it seems that every year I rotate through all of these gifts, picking one or two for the occasion:
Mugs & Teacups. My mom has an entire unique collection of teacups now from years of gifts. There are so many good options at Anthropologie.
Add in a bag of coffee or a tea tin to go along with it!
Jewelry. You can never go wrong with jewelry, just make sure to pick something classic and of good quality that will last for years. Bonus points if you add in an initial, birthstone, or engraving. I got this watch for my mom this year and got it engraved.
Beauty. Lotions and smart makeup choices make a great gift. Pick lotion scents that aren’t too overwhelming. And be careful with eyeshadows and lipsticks, always choose more neutral or classic color palattes.
Books. Pick up a favorite read of yours this year, or one of these classics, beautifully redone by Rifle Paper Co.
Photo Gifts. Just plain prints, a book, or in a frame, it doesn’t matter.
For Home. Most of the time I find my mom has all the decor she needs, but maybe there is something that could add a little beauty & function, like this recipe box.
Homemade. You’re never too old to make homemade gifts for mom. Mix up and essential oil blend, paint a picture, or make an ornament.
While these gifts are simple, take care in picking out the right version of each. Make sure that it fits well with the person you’re giving it to.
Like I mentioned, this year I am giving my mom this wooden watch for Christmas. My mom often makes comments through the years on something my sister-in-law or I have purchased. She mentioned that she liked my watch and so I thought I would get one for her. To make it special, I had it engraved it with a little message.
The watch already comes in a beautiful wooden box and probably only needs a ribbon, but I was excited to wrap it.

Here’s what I used:
white tissue paper, mini brush trees (found at target in store), baker’s twine, and gold washi tapeI wrapped the gift as I normally would, except with a few sheets of tissue paper. I chose the amount of paper based on how much was needed to completely cover the gift.
Then tied bakers twine around and knotted the strind around the base of the bottle brush tree.
I love how fun and festive it looks while remaining simple.
I love the look of tissue paper. It doesn’t matter if it’s perfect, it will probably have some wrinkles. I love that it lends a softer look, and I am loving white for this year. I will do a few of these and probably the typical brown paper packages that are normally under our tree.
