Remember that hard week I was talking about? This was one of those bright spots of that week. I was invited to the Google Home Mini Donut shop a one-day-only pop up and almost wasn’t going to go. I didn’t think Jordan would be able to go with me and I didn’t feel up to taking Ruby on my own. It worked out that Jordan worked a call shift and got off that afternoon. He fit in a little nap and was able to join us. It felt good to do something fun and exciting and eat excellent donuts after a tough week and particularly challenging two days.
Google did a fantastic job with this pop up, it was so fun and absolutely adorable. And I promise they’re not making me say that, this post is extra because I love these photos and wanted them over here too. This is all extra, you’re welcome, Google. 🙂
They were serving up Strange Donuts, which was worth it on it’s own. I’m not a big donut fan, so that’s saying something. I’m thinking that Jordan can convince me to go there just to have another s’mores donut.
These two are the donut crazies. I mean, Jordan was excited about the Google Home, but when I said free donuts he was all in. Here Ruby is having a very difficult time choosing between two favorites, sprinkles and marshmallows. She decided to go with the chocolate and marshmallow, my girl.
So, the Google Home Mini? We really love it. It was nice to replace the little bluetooth speaker we had in our kitchen that was never charged. I love being able to listen to music and podcasts, it’s super easy to use. I was interested in the Google Home, but this is much more accessible and a better price point. We put one in the kitchen and in our bedroom. It’s so nice to walk into your room and say, “Hey google, put on The Lumineers station” and then to shout as you’re leaving the house and forgot to turn it off, “Ok, Google, turn it off”.
I was in the market for a new speaker for our kitchen and had been researching to add to my Christmas list. They’re really expensive, and while I’m sure the speaker on this isn’t as good as some of the top of line speakers, it works excellent in our small kitchen. If you have a bigger room you may want to look into the Google Home or one with a more powerful speaker.
We’re slowly figuring out how to use it, it connects to our Nest and now Jordan and I are scheming to turn our entire house into a smart house. Hopefully not like that Disney movie. They have plugs so that you can have google turn on your lights, isn’t that cool?
So, that’s my honest review, I don’t have much negative to say about it, but we just use it for music and such. I saw that they are on super sale at Target for Black Friday, for $30, it’s a great buy.
She kept eating it even after dropping it on the ground. We’re excellent parents.
And this guy. Incredibly handsome even after a long week and working for 28 straight hours. So glad I was able to get him a donut and a google home after this week, he deserved it.
This evening was truly the turning point for our challenging week. We had dinner together after this and I even skipped out on some plans to spend time with these two. It was worth it.
