This isn’t the first time I’ve attempted to write a life update this summer. As I sift through my drafts of the little blog, there are many. Some about my pregnancy, our summer, current events, politics, a little of everything. They all go unfinished and collect dust, I forget, move on and start again with something new.
It’s true, I’m a starter, not a finisher. But, it seems to be truer this summer. It has been busy, I’ve been tired, all the excuses in the book.
Today is the first day of September. And Jordan has a four day weekend at home.
Home.
We thought about going somewhere. Camping? Chicago? Head to South Carolina early?
We made a wise choice to say no to adventure for this once in exchange for potty training. For cleaning the closets, finally mopping the floors, and uploading all of the summer’s memories in form of photographs.
We’re playing catch up. On all the things that we’re behind on and are weighing us (me) down.
I’m already feeling a little lighter and the weekend hasn’t even started yet. I’m over summer and ready for fall, a little routine, and working hard to prepare for a cozy winter at home. I will still enjoy the summer flowers for now, but, September, we’re glad you’re here.
