We always look forward to May in our family. All of our birthdays are in May (the same week, actually) so it’s full of fun and celebration. It also means warmer weather, more green, pretty flowers, and lifted spirits.
I know I’ve briefly mentioned that this year hasn’t been the best so far in terms of my health. And to make matters worse, as soon as I began to get answers and feeling better, I was struck with the worst cold in history. I was sick for March and most of April with bronchitis, sinusitis, and who knows what else. You may have noticed in that time I’ve taken a little break from this space and social media.Oh, and too many unanswered text messages (sorry). It wasn’t exactly intentional, I just didn’t have the energy.
Things are looking up, though. Today is one of the first days that I didn’t need to take a nap. I’m able to drink my cold brew (the toddy is back out for the season!!) and enjoy some of the quiet while my little one naps. Dinner is even made already and some yummy vegetable soup is in the crockpot. I mean, I’m feeling this May energy already.
I’m hopeful I will be able to find a little of myself again this May. To be healthy and my usual upbeat self.
So, here’s to the first day of May. May this be a new beginning for anyone who may need one this year.
