Just in time for nesting this fall season, one of my favorite shipments came in from Grove Collaborative. We’re now stocked up on some of our favorites for all of the cleaning frenzies over here. About five years ago I made the switch to more non-toxic, natural cleaning products. While I know that they’re not always perfect, it’s a big improvement from what I was using before.
There are many other products that I could list as well, but wanted to share the ones I absolutely recommend. I’m still narrowing in on my favorite dishwasher detergent.
my favorite cleaning products
Method Squirt & Mop
It took me a while to try this out, I was actually still on the Swiffer train for a long time. Having a little one on the floor made me switch. I now find this way better and the smell is amazing. All you do is squirt it on the floor and mop.
Method Daily Wood Cleaner
Same amazing scent as the floor cleaner, and works just as great on your surfaces.
Grove Collaborative
I love all of the Grove collaborative products, their attention to design and function is impeccable. The glass bottle, dish brush, and kitchen towel are their products. I use the glass bottle to fill up to create my own cleaner (recipe here) and it’s what I reach for most often is multifunctional. The dish brush is not only beautiful enough to leave out but is also really great. The heads of the brush are now replaceable.
They just released thier own cleaning solution concentrates to use with the glass bottle, which I think is genius. I added it to my next order to try out, so I will let you know!
Mrs. Meyer’s everything
One of the first products we switched to, I love this brand for their design, amazing scents, and quality. Right now you can get this entire set for free (the hand soap, dish soap, candle, and towel) here’s more information about it in one of my recent posts or you can go directly to the free gift here.
We use some other products other than these, like their toilet cleaner, room sprays, and laundry detergent. I don’t love their bathroom cleaner and while I do like their laundry detergent, I prefer to use a different brand. Their fabric softener is awesome though.
Do yourself a favor and get this mum scented candle.
Molly’s Suds
I just started using these laundry products this year and have been very happy with them. They don’t have a scent which is somewhat disappointing, but I know now that clean doesn’t have a scent. With our laundry detergent, I like to be extra cautious with ingredients. I like their regular laundry powder, brightener, wool dryer balls (no need for fabric softener!!) I haven’t tried their sports wash, but it had fantastic reviews on Grove’s website and I’m hoping it will help with the husbands military uniform and athletic wear.
The ecover stain remover has been my goto this year. I like that it has a brush to fully apply to the stain, because those toddlers are messy!
Wool Dryer Balls
If you haven’t picked up some wool dryer balls yet, you need to. It took me a long time to do so because I wasn’t wanting to make the investment. They really do work! and the more research I do the more I’m learning that fabric softener is really bad for your fabrics, it breaks it down and can ruin things like microfiber and athletic wear.
I’m still a sucker for the stuff though, so I still have some that I use instead occasionally on things like our sheets or an occasional load of laundry.
