While we were in South Carolina visiting with family my youngest brother was making fun of me for having more podcasts on my phone than music. While I still very much love music (here’s a playlist I made for this fall) I find that I like to listen to podcasts during the day. Usually while in the kitchen preparing food or cleaning up. I thought I’d share a few that I’ve been tuning into lately and to ask you if you have any that I should try out.
Risen Motherhood – I’ve really enjoyed this one and caught up on our latest 10-hour road trip. It’s two mamas sharing bits of motherhood from a Christian perspective. They have a refreshing and uplifting approach to motherhood topics that are still very real and honest. My favorite was their interview with Jen Wilkin.
The Road Back to You – I read this book on the enneagram this summer and just recently discovered this podcast. I’m a long time fan of personality tests and have been learning about the Enneagram over the last few years. This book and the podcast have really helped to bring it all together for me and I liked how it wove in Christian Spirituality. I also just listened to an episode of the mama I babysat for while we were in Bloomington and she’s the same type as me, which was so fun! You can listen to her podcast here. I’ve listened to all of the ones on enneagram 7 of course (that’s what I am) and I’ve also listened to a couple that I think might be Jordan.
I could go on and on, but I just need to write an entire blog post about the enneagram. or even meyers briggs which I’m not sure I’ve really talked about on here yet. But, if you haven’t yet looked into it, please do so we can talk about it!
The makers of this podcast have stopped this one and created their own, Typology and The Enneagram Journey and I have been enjoying both of them.
This American Life – An old favorite that I still go back to, because the stories are always interesting and ever-changing. These days I typically pick and choose the ones that look most interesting. They created the captivating Serial podcast, which is a must if you haven’t given it a listen.
Happier with Gretchen Rubin – This podcast is all about habits and living a happier life and is so helpful, practical, and interesting. I’m working on developing better habits and Gretchen has so many good ideas. The most recent podcast I listened to was about items in transition and it was such a funny thing to have an entire segment on, but it was so small but practical, I loved it.
There are more I enjoy, but these are the ones I find myself actually listening to lately.
