This past fall we took Ruby camping for the first time and had a great time. It was freezing and we forgot her travel crib, but that didn’t slow her down one bit. We went along with our friends Heather and Aaron and their two kids. I’m a big fan of camping in numbers, so I was glad they asked us to tag along, Jordan was extremely glad. He’s the one who love camping, remember my birthday this year?
They go camping quite a bit and Heather had all of these cute things to make it more cozy. Jordan always asks for camping stuff for gifts, so he’s stockpiled quite a bit.
and girl loves her chips, just look at her in this photo haha. and she really loves hammocks, my girl.
we had maybe the best campsite there, it was a great view. and check out that setup, our little tent is out of view.
there she is! our home for the night.
for dinner we made this sweet potato hash and it was absolutely delicious. we tried to recreate it recently, and cooked it the same way in a cast iron, but it didn’t taste the same. There’s definitely something about cooking while camping.
and then breakfast! which is possibly the best part of camping, in my opinion.
Jordan brought the slack line and it was a hit with the kids. Aaron bet them 20 bucks if they could make it all the way across. And sure enough, just before we left, Avery made it all the way. I maybe got five steps.
I think Jordan’s thinking how he can keep up with them on the slack line. haha
It was a quick trip, but I am glad we got outside before it got to cold to enjoy the rest of fall.
