I had a blast putting together our first baby registry three years ago. I loved hunting down the best item to the extreme of reading way too many reviews on baby socks. The second time around was just as fun, maybe more so, as I didn’t need to focus on the essentials.
I registered for some items needed to suit two kiddos, some things I wanted the first time around, and some new products that have since emerged.
our registry for baby no. 02
After our 20 week ultrasound, we went to the baby store to check out double strollers. We were debating between the UPPAbaby VISTA and the BabyJogger City Select Lux. We liked both of them, but preferred the way the UPPAbaby folded up and it was easier to maneuver. It’s very pricey, but we used our first stroller so much, we knew we wanted to invest in one we loved. We also got the UPPAbaby car seat. Over a month in and we are happy with our decision.
The second thing I knew I wanted was a ring sling. I had one on my first registry, but wasn’t gifted it and didn’t have room in the budget to get one and I already had a wrap and Ergo. It wasn’t a necessity, of course, but they’re a little more compact and easier to get on. A friend of mine here introduced me to Wildbird, they are crazy affordable and have good sales. I picked up two this summer and now have to stop myself from looking at the site, they’re fabric choices are excellent. The one shown is a Sakura Bloom, which I originally had on my first baby registry.
As I write this post, little Margot is right next to me snuggled in her DockATot. It makes sense, especially for this time where they’re adjusting to life outside the womb. It’s what we use for her naps during the day and keep her up on the couch away from older sister. We also got a larger one for Ruby, which she absolutely loves, you can read that post here.
I’m still on the hunt for a video monitor as we don’t need one quite yet. We have sort of had one for Ruby, we used an old camera, didn’t have one for a long period of time, and now use a camera attached to our security system. It works for us, I am able to check on her easily on my phone. For Margot, I’d like a camera that also has its own monitor.
After having a terrible time of breastfeeding with my first, I was a little nervous to purchase any nursing friendly items. This covered goods cover was something I wish I had to cover the car seat, or to use for shopping carts. I’m glad I have one this time around, I use it multiple times a day.
backpack diaper bag
After having one kid, you learn that a backpack style diaper bag is essential. I grabbed a Fawn Design a year in with Ruby and loved it, but it took a beating in just a year. Before then, we just her mini backpack, which Margot was gifted her own in a different color. I found a more affordable faux leather diaper backpack on Amazon and it works very well.
Some other things:
Like, baby socks that ACTUALLY STAY ON, the perfect swaddle, a natural pacifier, cute pacifier clip, my favorite nipple butter, a breast pump that easily collects your letdown on the other side while you’re nursing (and is only $15), a letterboard for the nursery, a hammock for your baby for the grocery cart, cozy organic pajamas, a bonnet, the sweetest lovey, a nightlight & sound machine all in one
