24 weeks, 3 days
I am fully enjoying the second trimester and not for a minute wanting to wish it away. I think that’s the wonderful thing about your second pregnancy, you know the sweet spots. And man, is the second trimester sweet. Filled with little baby kicks, not too gigantic, but sporting an actual bump, and actually having energy.
My instagram husband of mine outdid himself with these photos. He didn’t complain once when I asked him to pull over to a cool wall to take these and he did a damn good job. Thank you, Jordan, you might be a better photographer than me.
And despite how awkward I feel when taking photos of just me, I’m so so glad that I do. I think I’m learning to be less awkward in front of the camera too? maybe? Either way, it’s been fun to document this pregnancy through portraits.
baby is the size of a
demi-baguette (still loving the french pastries!)
how i’m feeling
I am really starting to feel pregnant. I bought a non-maternity dress for Jordan’s brother’s wedding really early on in my pregnancy. I was a little nervous that it would no longer fit, but it worked out great surprisingly!
Other than starting to not fit into a lot of my regular clothing, I’m living and loving the second-trimester life.
symptoms
The sciatic nerve pain is getting worse, but other than that I’m feeling good!
maternity clothes
For the rehearsal dinner for the wedding, I got this floral maxi dress from Pinkblush. I wish I would have known about Pinkblush dusing my first pregnancy, because their maternity clothing is incredible. I can remember wearing just a so-so dress to both of my baby showers with my first and it was mostly because there wasn’t much available. Remembering that experience this time around I knew I wanted to find a dress that I’d feel beautiful, comfortable in, and in my style.
I’m actually not normally one for maxi lengths, but it’s just a must for these bumps.
food cravings
hmm… forever and always chocolate milk.
how i’m nesting
Like crazy. We recently switched all of the rooms and have been working on projects every night. Our dining room is currently a work zone filled with furniture that has been painted and waiting to dry for the last coat.
Here’s what all we did:
We rearranged our room to make it flow better and I love it! We’re now able to fit bigger night stands so we picked some up really cheap and are painting them.
We switched Ruby’s room with the guest room so that she now has the smaller room and we can combine the nursery with the guest room.
It’s been a lot of work, but Jordan will start having an easier schedule sometime soon (hopefully) so we can continue working on all of these projects.

how is ruby taking it all in?
She currently still wants to be a baby. She wants all the baby things, her crib, her bottles, she’s definitely still the baby. She’s starting to talk about the baby and say baby sister and such.
weight gain & self-image
I’ve gained 15 pounds at this point and am just now starting to feel bigger. My weight hasn’t increased much the past few weeks, but I’ve noticed a big difference. My belly now sticks out of my regular tshirts so I’m starting to reach in the husband’s drawer or my maternity clothes.
At the family wedding this weekend I took the time to curl my hair and do my makeup and felt really beautiful despite feeling so large. I’m learning that taking some time to care for myself and to find clothing that works well for me can go a long way. Now to recover from eating so terribly this weekend.

I’m an ambassador for Pinkblush & they gifted me this beautiful dress that I picked out myself. Thank you, Pinkblush, for making the pregnant mama’s dreams come true.
