If you’ve been around this blog since the beginning of 2016, then you may remember this post. It’s no secret that we like to travel. We get a little antsy if we’re in one city for too long. We knew that having Ruby might slow us down a bit, but this year proves just the opposite. We traveled more than we ever have in any other year in 2016.
We were looking back at the year and I thought it would be fun to look back at our travel wishlist. I laughed when I read about how we always planned to go to Europe for our five-year, but that this wouldn’t be the year. The stars aligned and the trip of our dreams came together! I had a lot of fun comparing where we wanted to travel to what we actually did in 2016:
Where we wanted to travel in 2016:
1. Arizona, Antelope Canyon
2. The Ozarks, Eureka Springs (just The Ozarks, not all the way to Eureka Springs)
3. Asheville, North Carolina, Greenville, South Carolina (just Greenville)
4. Glacier National Park
5. Denver, Colorado
6. Southern California
I’m totally okay with the fact that we didn’t get to cross off the last two on our list since we were able to go to Europe. I am incredibly thankful for all the traveling we’re able to do.
Where we actually traveled in 2016:
Chicago, IL – for new years
Phoenix, AZ
Scottsdale, Sedona, Flagstaff, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell
The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah
Denver, Colorado
The Ozarks – Current River
Nashville, TN

Carlyle Lake – camping with Ruby
Even with Jordan being in his first year of residency and having a baby, we managed to visit many places. I don’t think this whole parenthood thing or being busy slows us down. We’re already thinking ahead so keep a lookout for a ‘Where we want to travel in 2017’ post soon!
There are quite a few gaps in our travel posts. I’ll get to filling those in eventually. I’m hoping to be able to process through our Europe photos while Jordan has time off after Christmas.
Would you rather see all of our photos from Europe all at once? maybe a whole Europe week or something? or maybe just spread out among normal posts?
Oh, and where did you travel in 2016?
